AN UNFORGETTABLE SAIL

This weekend turned out to be an unforgettable one that I won’t soon forget! David and Emine came up from Kalmar, and we decided to sail south to explore the archipelago around Norsten. It’s a beautiful stretch of islands with relatively low terrain, offering little wind shelter, but the conditions were absolutely perfect. Sunshine, a gentle breeze, and warm (well, somewhat warm) waters!

We moored at an island just off Norsten, featuring absolutely stunning cliffs, polished to perfection by the ice sheets thousands of years ago.

We enjoyed a swim, went on an adventure, and grilled as the sun dipped below the horizon. The only downside to this lovely spot was when a swarm of tiny flies flew in and settled on the boat’s white walls—hundreds, maybe even thousands of them! After a lot of frantic waving and swatting, we finally got rid of them and restored some peace.

Just before sunset, I took the opportunity to launch the drone and capture some stunning photos. It’s not every day you get to have an entire island all to yourself.

The next day, we took a short sail down to Huvudskär and dropped anchor in a nearby cove. Where exactly, I can't reveal, of course! ;) The beautiful weather continued, and we spent the day swimming, enjoying herring, potatoes, and schnapps. What an amazing weekend it turned out to be!
